Landscape archaeology deals with the diachronic development of the landscape in the interaction between natural and cultural development. It is characterized by the consideration of micro- (settlement chambers) and macroregions (several settlement chambers in one region). Methodically, surveys of all kinds can be combined with excavation results and intrasite analyses including artefact studies.
