Abstract

This paper presents a novel approach for the optimal design of RC snubbers, valid for very high frequencies from 30 MHz to 300 MHz. The integration of monolithic RC snubbers poses new design challenges, which are not covered by conventional design approaches. Our method avoids commonly made simplifications and therefore overcomes these challenges. A half-bridge circuit is used in the experiments to validate the theoretical approach. The results of the measurements are in good accordance with the predictions obtained from our analysis.
