Abstract

Arterial hypertension is understood to mean elevated blood pressure in the systemic circulation. A blood pressure of 140/90 mmHg in clinical or practice measurements and 135/85 mmHg in ambulatory self-measurement is considered the threshold value. Hypertension is classified into different grades depending on the extent (Table 4.1).
