Abstract

35 years have passed since the publication ofFillmore et al.(1988), which can be seenas one of the foundational works of Construction Grammar (CxG). The present spe-cial issue celebrates this anniversary with a collection of papers that revisit influentialpapers or ideas from the history of constructionist approaches. In this introduction,we motivate our choice of Fillmore et al. (1988) as a seminal paper for CxG, andgive a brief overview of the ideas behind this collection of papers as well as of thepapers themselves.
