Abstract

Guided Acoustic Wave Brillouin Scattering (GAWBS) generates phase and polarization noise of light propagating in glass fibers. We experimentally demonstrate the reduction of GAWBS noise in microstructured fibers in comparison with standard fibers. © 2005 IEEE.
