Abstract

In this paper we present the “FAU GeoExplorer” App, developed at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) as a tool that builds on existing solutions and combines the advantages of a didactically structured multimedia content hosted in a learning environment with the advantages of geo-visualization that can be used on site. As a prototypical use case from the domain of cultural and urban history, we present a route along the late medieval Nuremberg Stations of the Cross, a pathway with a series of seven sculptural art works leading from the Neutor city gate to the Johannis cemetery.
