Abstract

After the metamaterial hype [1] there is a huge interest for metamaterials at a reasonable price. Colloidal synthesis methods and colloidal self-assembly methods can accept this challenge. We report about the concept of substrate-supported nanoparticles overgrowth and template-assisted colloidal self-assembly of nanoparticles to achieve local and propagating magnetic resonances on the centimeter scale.
