Abstract

Malignant peritoneal mesothelioma is an aggressive and extremely rare paediatric tumour. To decide on the optimal treatment for individual patients and to try to increase our knowledge on this disease to understand its biological basis still represent great challenges for those involved with patient care, particularly paediatric oncologists. Treatment should rely on a multimodal approach. We suggest that advice should be taken from national rare tumour groups or international groups such as the EXPERT (European cooperative study group for paediatric rare tumour).
