Abstract

We demonstrate a long-range Brillouin optical time-domain analysis (BOTDA) sensor system with a sensing range up to 100-km by combining an anti-Stokes single sideband suppressed-carrier modulation technique with an in line mid-span bidirectional EDFA. © 2012 IEEE.
