Millimeter-sized polystyrene particles coated with a hydrophobic polypyrrole overlayer were successfully synthesized by aqueous chemical oxidative seeded polymerization. The dried particles could efficiently adsorb to the air-water interface and worked as an effective liquid marble stabilizer visible to the naked eye. The shape of the liquid marbles could be controlled by application of external mechanical stress.
