Currently nine Central Asian universities, three each from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are implementing the ERASMUS+ project “Central Asian Centre for Teaching, Learning and Entrepreneurship -CACTLE”. Participating universities from Uzbekistan are: Bukhara State University, Fergana State University and Westminster International University in Tashkent. Firstly, this article aims to reason the idea of the project. Against this background, we will give a short overview about the concrete competences required to sustainable implement a center for teaching and learning at a university as a service unit considering the lessons learned from the experience ofthe CHE in Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany.
