A method for producing a dialkyl carbonate comprises reacting alkanol with carbon monoxide and oxygen in the presence of a supported on a solid phase substrate copper-contg. catalyst having m.p. ≤120° (catalyst is present on the solid phase substrate under method conditions in a liq. state). A copper-contg. complex compd. belonging to the catalyst comprises at least one nitrogen compd. such as N-alkylimidazoles, N,N -dialkylamino pyridines, N-alkylpyrazoles or N alkylguanidines as an N-donor ligand and/or a quaternized nitrogen compd. as an org. cation. Thus, mixing 15 min 6.17 g [Cu(Im12)2][CuBr2] (Im12 = 1-dodecylimidazole rest) with 90 mL acetonitrile in the absence of oxygen, adding 10.5 g silica gel having particle size 0.063 - 0.20 mm and BET surface area 335 m2/g, stirring 15 min, heating under stirring to 50°, treating with ultrasound, them reducing pressure to 500 Pa gave after 45 min a catalyst powder used in oxidative carbonylation of methanol to di-Me carbonate exhibiting selectivity 83% by reacting 4 h at 120° at O2 pressure 3 bar and CO pressure 50 bar.
