Abstract

Topic of this work is to characterize the frequency domain equalization concepts of OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) and SC/FDE (Single Carrier Transmission with Frequency Domain Equalization) in the context of CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) - as besides efficient equalization in the frequency domain, future communication system will also be judged by their possibilities to be combined with multiple access techniques. Due to specific characteristics of the invvestigated system, also their behaviour in the context of CDMA is a differen one and advantages and disadvantages of the underlying concepts will be pointes out. Aspects as preferred spreading codes, despreading in the frequency domain, possible performance in the context of multi path propagation, or multi user detection are investigated.
