Abstract

This paper will report on the RF-related system and radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) issues of mobile radio terminals in general. In particular, we consider RFICs for third-generation wideband code division multiple access (3G W-CDMA) systems like UMTS, and we present the worldwide first single-chip, intermediate frequency (IF) transceiver for W-CDMA applications.
