Abstract

The low-valent U(iii) complexes [(( ArO) mes)U] and [(( ArO) N)U] react with CO to form the bridging carbonate complexes [{(( ArO) mes)U} (μ-κ :κ -CO )] and [{(( ArO) N)U} (μ-η : κ -CO )]. Uranium(iv) bridging oxo complexes have been determined to be the intermediate in these transformations. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2010.
