Abstract

Quick on the uptake: Uranium(III) complexes bearing hexadentate triazacyclononane macrocyclic ligands L engage di-and triketones in both one-and two-electron reduction pathways. The dinuclear enolate generated through one of these pathways reacts with carbon dioxide to generate a new C-C bond (see scheme). Copyright © 2011 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
