Abstract

If the assumptions for repeated measures analysis of variance are violated, nonparametrical statistical tools need to be applied. Two methods for the evaluation of interindividual differences in intraindividual change are suggested: One method follows the configural frequency analysis approach of analyzing change patterns, the other is from Latent Class Analysis (LCA) and its special version for repeated measures, latent Markov modeling. Differential and complementary aspects of the two methods are discussed.
