Abstract

The adsorption of CO on Pt(111) was examined in a time-resolved manner by high-resolution core level photoelectron spectroscopy using synchrotron radiation. From C1s, O1s, and Pt4f spectra, two species, namely on-top and bridge bound CO, were resolved with excellent agreement of binding energy values with literature reports.
