Abstract

An UWB-Pulse radar transceiver front-end at 79 GHz with 4 GHz bandwidth was simulated, both to see the differences between existing 24 GHz systems and to configure the transceiver performance for the hardware development at 79 GHz in SiGe bipolar technology. Initial values were taken from former 24 GHz publications like [1] and were adjusted to the requirements at the higher frequency range. The simulation includes the validation of the basic system parameters of the radar system, the ability to get the distance and velocity information of detected objects in a specified range and the implementation of the hf-parameters like noise, linearity and isolation. This will make it possible to get an overview of the circuit non-idealities of the specific
