The limits for the central production of θ and ξ pentaquark candidates in proton-induced reactions on C, Ti and W in 920-GeV pA collisions was investigated. It was found that there was no evidence for narrow signals in the θ → pK and ξ → ξπ channels. It was observed that the upper limits (UL) for the inclusive production cross section times branching fraction Bdσ/dyι were (4-16) μb/N. It was also observed that the calculated UL for θ/λ(1520) < 2.7% was lower than statistical hadronization predictions.
