Short description

The main objective of the LOOP project is to contribute to the shift towards a comprehensive teaching profession policy that spans all stages of teaching careers. We aim to measure the impact and scalability of formal training of mentors' programs and teacher's induction programs to improve the career paths in the teaching profession, based in a set of hypothesis:

1. Formal training of mentors' programs to train experienced teachers and school leaders facilitates the deployment of effective and formal teacher's induction programs

2. The opportunity for experienced teachers and school leaders to diversify their career options and act as mentors of their peers contributes to their motivation and maintenance on the system

3. Peer-developed teachers induction programs based on mentoring activities support the professional development of teachers initiating their careers and their maintenance on the system

4. Formal induction programs applied at the school level contribute to the social and cultural inclusion and development of new teachers

5. Structured mentoring programs adapted to the context increases the interest and success of its participants

6. The training of mentors facilitates the implementation of teachers' induction programs

7. Paint of resources and guidance are the reasons for not implementing induction programs in schools

A quasi-experimental methodology of 4 building blocks will be used: Preparing the soil - Participatory design of the policy instruments - Field trials in real environments - Building Policy Recommendations from the field

Target groups: New and experienced teachers, school leaders, entities responsible for school management and / or teachers careers development
