Short description

The project "FAU Teacher Education International" refers to the current educational policy and recommendations on internationalization in higher education and to research results and best practices in the field of internationalisation of teacher education and pays special attention to the regulations for teacher education in Bavaria. Its main goal is to achieve a sustainable internationalisation of teacher education at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). All student in teacher education should have an opportunity to gain international experience. Internationalisation in teacher education includes international mobility, internationalisation at home and in virtual classrooms (internet-based courses and virtual mobility) and will be implemented in all curricular elements of teacher education (subject-related studies, subject-related didactics, and educational sciences). In addition, the project facilitates the co-operation between the first and the third phase of teacher education (e.g. in the network "Internationalisation of Education in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region").  The projects addresses the diversity of study programmes and subjects, the linguistic and cultural diversity and the breadth of international co-operation in teacher education. In addition to the evaluation of the project, there are further project-related research activities in the field of the internationalisation of teacher education that contribute to the scientific discourse and research in teacher education.
