Michael Hentschel, specializing in 'Multimedia Systems' in the master program 'Information and Communication Systems', received the ISS Study Award for his outstanding academic achievements at the annual general meeting of the ITG in the VDE on 20.10.2014. This prize, sponsored by the International Switching Symposium, is awarded every two years by the ITG and is endowed with € 7500 to enable the winners to spend time abroad. Mr. Hentschel will use the award to do his master's thesis at the University of Tsukuba in the field of robust speech recognition using deep neural networks as part of the long-standing cooperation between the audio researchers at the LMS and the University of Tsukuba.
